Hamas: Intl. community must oblige Israel to implement UNSC resolution
A member of the political bureau of the Hamas resistance movement has welcomed a UN Security Council resolution that called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza as “significant and important”, but he said it’s important now to see how the international community works to compel Israel to implement it.
Basem Naim added that Israel’s talk of captives does not include the more than 7,000 Palestinians being detained by Israel, according to Al Jazeera.
“We have at least 7,000 Palestinians kidnapped by the Israelis, and we consider them all hostages. If it has to come to release the hostages, it has to be applied on both sides,” he said.
“We have welcomed the resolution, but it is the role of the international community to oblige Israel and to end this double standard and to deal with Israel as a rogue state,” he added.
